Grenoble Image Parole Signal Automatique, Département Parole et Cognition (Gipsa-lab)
Gipsa-lab is a multi-disciplinary laboratory conducting theoretical and applied research in the field of signals andsystems. As of January 1, 2016, it comprises 113 research professors, 37 technical and administrative staff, 150 PhD students and around 100 post-docs, guests, interns and trainees. In scientific terms, it is organized into 12 teams, 3 scientific departments and two cross-disciplinary axes on the themes of "brain" and "robotics".
Mainly positioned at the heart of Information and Communication Sciences and Technologies (ICST), the laboratory also has an important dimension in Human and Social Sciences (SHS) through its disciplinary research in Language Sciences and interdisciplinary research in the field of speech at the interface between ICST / SHS / SDV (Life Sciences). This configuration is unique in France and rare on the international scene.
On the Grenoble site, the laboratory's SHS themes are well identified in Axis 1 " Human and social cognition, language and language studies " of the ALLSHCS site cluster, of which the laboratory is an associate unit. At CNRS level, these issues are supported by theInstitut National des Sciences Humaines et Sociales (INSHS), with regular recruitment of CNRS researchers assigned to Gipsa-lab.
