UFR LLASIC offers you a wide choice of quality courses. Throughout your stay, you'll benefit from the support of the international relations department, which will help you with all the formalities and relay information on cultural activities organized throughout the year.
We strive to make you feel welcome, and to be available to help you make the most of your stay in Grenoble.
Who can come on exchange to UFR LLASIC?
You must be enrolled at a foreign university that has signed an agreement with theUniversité Grenoble Alpes and be selected for a mobility program at the UGA LLASIC UFR. If in doubt, ask your home university's international relations department.
Université Grenoble Alpes Alpes does not require a language test. However, as most courses are taught in French, we strongly advise future exchange students to have a B2 level (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). You will be asked to provide proof of this when you apply.

During the summer, students coming to UGA for the first time can apply for simplified university accommodation through ISSO (International Students and Scholars Office). The housing procedure is sent out once the application has been approved by the UFR.
In July, it is also possible to register for the FLE (Français Langue Etrangère) course, which takes place at the end of August. This 20-hour intensive course, depending on your level, is free of charge and will earn you 3 ECTS credits.
Administrative registration
Late August / Early September
Early January
Administrative registration is compulsory when you arrive in Grenoble. The pre-filled application form is sent to you in the summer, and must be completed and returned to the registration office when you arrive (you'll need to make an appointment in advance).
This registration will enable you to obtain your UGA ID and student card once all the supporting documents have been submitted. Your student account will give you access to timetables, digital resources and your corporate mailbox.
Pedagogical registration
Mid-September
Mid-January
This second registration will enable you to validate your study program. It involves registering for each of the courses you will be taking throughout the semester. It is first done online, then completed by a personal meeting with your manager to add any options and check your learning contract. The course booklet can help you choose your specialization and understand how to set up your program.
You can also take advantage of counseling meetings with your educational coordinator during the first week before classes, to help you understand the timetable and draw up a program in line with your initial training. We strongly advise you to take advantage of this opportunity!
The LLASIC UFR, with its wide range of courses, offers you a vast choice of modules for your mobility.
Depending on your initial training at your home university, you'll need to choose a specialization path at LLASIC.
This specialty pathway will be taken in one of our 4 specific disciplinary fields, or in a mixed pathway. You can also take cross-disciplinary options from other disciplines and/or the UGA's global offering.
We also offer a semester-long program specifically designed for exchange students, with courses in French language and academic writing methodology.
These small-group courses look at the French language and culture through the prism of literature and the arts, linguistics and didactics.
Our educational bookletupdated every semester, will give you a better understanding of the French university system and the LLASIC curriculum. In particular, you'll find the 5 training paths and their respective programs.
