Almost all of them are graduates or current students of the University of Grenoble, and these portraits represent the faces of those who have passed through or are still passing through these walls in an attempt to build a better future for themselves. For each and every one of them, the carefree youth of the present mingles with the worries and responsibilities of tomorrow. So, in the turmoil that drives them, they try to find meaning, so as not to lose themselves. It is this turmoil that I wanted to expose through this series. It is this turmoil—between dreams and carefreeness, so precious at twenty, mixed with the unknowns of an abstract and uncertain future—that creates these looks, that creates personalities, that gradually creates and shapes the souls of tomorrow and the futures of each individual.

These photos, taken over the course of an entire year, illustrate the torment in the eyes of those who, like me, are at a turning point in their lives, where we try everything to put the odds in our favor, sometimes at the cost of forgetting our carefree attitude and freedom. So, a dilemma arises: how can we juggle this intense effort to secure a better future (synonymous with freedom tomorrow) and the precious carefree attitude of the present moment (synonymous with freedom today)?

Today we are here, without many answers. Perhaps tomorrow we will be there: where we want to be. Or perhaps tomorrow we will be somewhere we did not plan to be. But it doesn't matter, because the most important thing is probably not where we will be, but rather where we will have been. The journey—with all the faces and people we will meet—will ultimately remain our most precious artifact, the one that has shaped us into who we are and who we will be.
