School life, Valuation, Educational innovation
The pedagogical objective is to improve interpersonal skills, listening skills and empathy in medical students, and to develop theatrical improvisation skills in performing arts students.
Led by Pauline Bouchet, MCF in theatre studies, in collaboration with Grenoble University Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine, this IdEX 'Formation' winning project aims to finance filmed simulations of consultations involving 4th year medical students and L2 Performing Arts students, based on the Improvisation in a medical environment course. It has also contributed to the opening of an Arts-Health seminar in the Artistic Creation Master's program, open to students in the VHS2 Master's program (SHS) and to ESAD students.

The CHUIproject is a real pedagogical transformation, involving the organization of simulated medical consultations in situ. Performing arts students act as patients, while medical students practice consultations and diagnoses in real-life situations. The thoracic surgery department of Grenoble University Hospital provides 5 consultation rooms, 8 evenings per semester, behind closed doors. The sessions are filmed, then debriefed and evaluated by the teachers.

The scheme had received initial funding for pedagogical innovation in 2016. Funding was renewed through the IdEX 'Maturation' projects. This year, it has been extended to include training in diagnosis announcement for 7th year interns.
This project strengthens collaboration between the LLASIC UFR and the Faculty of Medicine. It consolidates the links between health and the humanities within the framework of the new CSPM "Humanities, Sport, Health and Society". It also provides food for thought on research issues relating to theater and health.
