The "Ça cinéma" festival is a project in the "Programming Workshop" course, aimed at students in the Licence 3 Arts du spectacle program. It is the international film festival for the students' graduating year.
This project, spread over
two semestersis organized by teachers Robert Bonamy (Valence) and Stéphane Collin (Grenoble).
It is dedicated to students from both the Valence and Grenoble campuses, to reinforce the links between the two teaching sites.
Visit
Ça cinéma" festival takes its name from a reflection on the
questioning the place of cinema in relation to other forms of entertainment such as social networks. It's now possible to post longer and longer videos, but are they cinema? Why are some films shown in cinemas and others not? The "it" insists on cinema, its definitions and the ways in which it is referred to. Finally, it also refers to the name of a magazine that disappeared in the 1980s.
The students are responsible for organizing the event from start to finish. To achieve this, in the first semester they receive
student films from around the worldview them and
the basis for critical thinking. Based on this work, the students create the
festival program which can be summed up in around 20 films. This year, students at both sites received approximately
250 films from different origins (from universities and schools in Europe, Latin America, Africa, etc.).
The aim of this project is to make it possible to
sharing and cooperation between the Valence and Grenoble sites working with students from both sites, a unique program was born.
The second semester requires students to focus on
logistics organization. This second part asks them to mobilize in small groups to work on the following themes
issues such as managing film prints, applying for grants, translating or creating subtitles for certain films (such as those from South America or the Cuban school), or giving newspaper interviews. Indeed, it's possible to read an article by our students in
le Dauphiné and listen to them on
France Blue.
In the wake of the global pandemic, we are witnessing a
festival revival which becomes
international graduation festival.
During the event, which took place on
April 28 and 29, 2022 at Lux scène nationale de Valencethe students were able to identify
120 spectators at opening session.
On the other hand,
five filmmakers came to take part in round-table debates organized by students in the degree program.
This highly professional project also enables students to see what is being done elsewhere in the world.
for their future studies (en Master, notamment le Master mention création artistique de l’UGA).
