The master's degree in language didactics offers two double degree courses with the University of Curitiba
French as a Foreign and Second Language (FLES)
Didactics of Languages and Pedagogical and Multimedia Engineering (DILIPEM)
This is a
double degree Mestrado em Letras, Area de concentração estudos linguísticos at Universidade Federal do Paraná and Master Didactique des Langues,
French as a Foreign and Second Language course or
Didactics of languages and digital pedagogical engineering course atUniversité Grenoble Alpes. Degrees are offered in French and Portuguese (Brazil).
This double degree is the result of collaboration between teams of researchers in language didactics at the two partner universities.
On the one hand, it aims to train professionals in the teaching of French as a foreign language. by offering them international experience and thus greater employability, and to consolidate the cooperation of teacher-researchers. This cooperation has already produced concrete results, including the transfer of UFPR's model for welcoming and training migrant students to UGA, and the mobilization of lecturers to take part in conferences and speak to students and lecturers.
Since 2015, 14 students, 6 Brazilian and 8 French, have graduated through this program. This program does not aim to form large cohorts, notably because of the supervision provided to French students at the University of Curitiba (tutored training in taking charge of FLE classes).
Students in this double degree program spend the first year of their Master's degree at
Grenoble (Brazilians as well as French), and the second year at
Curitiba. At the end of the Master's program, students obtain both diplomas, enabling them to broaden their qualifications and facilitate their professional integration. The
professionalizationwhich is a key feature of the DDL Master's program, is particularly evident in this double degree.
During their first year in Grenoble, both French and Brazilian students have the opportunity to get involved in
FLE conversation workshops with CUEF students. They can also teach FLE in an associative environment, a commitment that is recognized by ECTS credits. During their second year in Curitiba, French students teach FLE at the University of Curitiba's language center (CELIN), under the supervision of a tutor.
These teaching experiences, in different cultural and academic contexts, are a real plus for this double degree.French as a foreign and second language in Curitiba (Brazil)
