Partnerships that work

School life
La comédie de Valence
It's impossible to talk about the Performing Arts Department without mentioning the partnerships it has developed, in Valence and Lussas in particular.
As part of the Lettres et Arts du Spectacle bachelor's degree program in Valence, students benefit from tailor-made practical training, in association with the Comédie de Valence. Focus on two of the many partnerships developed by the department.

Center Dramatique National (CDN) since 2001, a place for transdisciplinary creation, the Comédie de Valence supports our training program by assisting with practical courses, which are taught by Comédie artists and intermittents. Some courses also take place on the Comédie's premises: theatrical workshops, introduction to directing, etc... The essential elements of the Performing Arts degree benefit from the CDN's privileged location.

Séverine Ruset, responsible for the Performing Arts department's partnership mission until 2021, comments: "The partnership with the Comédie de Valence is crucial to the professionalization of our students. It enables them to receive practical training from seasoned stage professionals, in conjunction with the CDN's programming. The stability it offers also favors the coherence and progressiveness of the educational path we have built up in dialogue with Valence's theatrical institution. In their third year, students put to good use the skills they have acquired during their undergraduate studies by developing creative projects for the stage, for which they continue to benefit from professional support from La Comédie de Valence".

The Master's program in Creative Documentary is also organized around a partnership with the Ardèche Images association, based in Lussas. Half the course is held at UGA, half at Lussas, where students benefit from the expertise and specialized knowledge of Ardèche Images' artists and freelancers. In particular, they attend the annual États généraux du film documentaire, held in Lussas since 1989, which brings together documentary film professionals and the general public to discuss current creative issues.

About Ardèche Images, Vincent Sorrelwho is in charge of the Creative Documentary program, adds: "This association, created in 1979, works to develop auteur documentary with the États généraux du film documentaire, the Maison du doc...), but the place that embodies the 'documentary village', a regional center of excellence, also brings together other production and distribution activities, the jewel in the crown of which is today's Maison du doc. Tënk, the distribution platform for auteur documentary films, has become a benchmark: the Bulles library not only offers a Tënk viewing station, but also free subscriptions to its students and teachers. Organized as a cooperative, the digital platform not only offers a program of documentary films, but is also involved in the co-production of numerous films."

While these partnerships are undeniably an asset for the quality of our courses, they also enhance the University's regional and national profile.
In an age of transdisciplinarity, and with a view to professionalizing our training courses, we are careful to ensure that these invaluable collaborations thrive and evolve, in agreement with the DAJI, which ensures compliance with regulations.
