Creative writing workshop

Culture
Literature is not only discovered through commentaries and essays, but also through creative practice. The creative writing workshop is a collective space where students deepen their knowledge of literature by working with words.
In turn, writers Tanguy Viel, Hélène Frédérick, Sylvain Prudhomme and Hélène Gaudy came to accompany the students' projects, offer exercises, read and advise. Writing under the watchful eye of writers who have published with major publishing houses (Minuit, Gallimard, Actes Sud, Verticales) means understanding the expectations and poetics of publishing. It also means discovering with them an expanded literary space, as each writer brings his or her favorite books to "unpack [his or her] library", as Walter Benjamin put it.

By sharing their books with others, the students were able to find interlocutors for their own creative work: whether contemporary or from past centuries, in French-language or international literature, they were able to build up their own library of allies, to write by reading others. Last but not least, these writers have also opened their own workshops, presenting their books in progress and involving the students in the process: this is another way of entering a writer's work.
