The aim was to explore the links between sound documentaries and contemporary writing practices that are strongly rooted in reality, sometimes referred to as "field literature", such as surveys, long-form reporting and the collection of personal accounts.

Writer and podcaster François Beaune came to share his experience as a story collector with the students, and to lead a "storytelling workshop". reflection on ways of finding, telling and transmitting stories. Émilie Wadelle, sound designer, then trained the students in sound recording with a zoom microphone, as well as in sound editing. Each student then set out to find a true story in their own environment, which they were able to record with equipment loaned by the Maison de la Création et de l'Innovation (MaCI)) and edit to produce a 4-5 minute audio documentary.

Émilie Wadelle

She runs an independent sound creation studio, Skadi & Coin Grenoble. Skadi & Co has two missions: to produce sound creations and to offer training in sound creation. The studio specializes in scientific mediation, heritage and territorial development. Émilie Wadelle is also the creator of a series of podcasts entitled Base Camp which aims to give a voice to the diversity of mountain regions.
