Summary

Adèle and Louis live as a couple in a big city. Probably at the very beginning of the last century. It's Sunday. A truce in the weave of an exhausting week, similar to all the others, but also in their new life that is just beginning. They work hard. They try to repair themselves and explore together the sudden and improbable possibility of light at last. One by one, the reader discovers episodes from their past lives, their troubled childhoods and the circumstances of their meeting in the countryside, miles from here. What brought them together, and almost drove them apart forever, are unspeakable secrets that will more than once overwhelm and destroy them. Yet Adèle will express her anger. Louis will express his fear. They will finally find the courage and strength to leave this place, to turn their backs on this murderous barn for good.
