First promotion for the DU Verbal violence and mediation in professional situations

This diploma, part of the Language Sciences program, is designed to offer a reflection centered on the interactional understanding and interpretation of the mechanisms of violent tension, on emotions and on reflective practice.
Through its architecture and content, this DU has been designed to meet the needs ofWe offer a wide range of courses for students in initial training as well as continuing education, particularly professionals in contact with the public, who are sometimes at a loss when faced with situations of aggression or verbal violence, or even harassment or verbal abuse.

This year's diploma proved very popular: thirteen students registered (8 in initial training and 5 in continuing education) and attended the first intensive week of teaching. The class includes :
  • students who, at the same time as taking the DU, are following other courses in different UGA departments
  • students seeking to complete a degree in other social and human sciences disciplines before entering the world of work (e.g. management and business studies)
  • others, who are already in the professional sphere and wish to find theoretical and practical tools (schoolteacher, midwife, nurse, educator in popular education)
The diploma currently comprises two teaching modules spread over two intensive weeks, one in January and the other at the beginning of July, plus compulsory sociolinguistic seminars.

In addition, we are organizing a thematic school, in collaboration with the UFR Médecine et Pharmacie and supported by our UFR's Coup de pouce program, a thematic school to be held in Grenoble on July 2 and 3, 2024. The program is currently being finalized. The school will be open to anyone interested in situations of conflict and tension in the medical environment, between caregivers and patients, or within medical and administrative teams.
